Chess is a mental sport played between two players on a board with 32 pieces, it can be considered as a game of mental fight.
The square board on which it is played consists of 8 rows and 8 columns, thus giving 64 squares of alternate colors (mostly white and black).

Each player begins the game with 16 pieces that each move and capture other pieces on the board in a unique way.
The pieces are divided as 8 pawns, 2 bishops, 2 rooks, 1 queen and a king. The game is considered as finished when any player achieves checkmate (when the defending player does not has any other option except to surrender).
The prime importance is given to the king, as hole game depends on protecting the king.
The queen is considered as the most important element of the game as it can perform maximum number of different moves, this queen is placed adjacent to the king.
